Haughton Park House Farm, a special home for our beautiful Reindeer. With an expanding herd of 18 and naturally reared calves which helps with the preservation of these beautiful animals.
We love talking about all things Reindeer, learn the wonders of why reindeer fly, what makes them eat so many carrots, and how they adapt to the changing seasons.
Farm Detectives offer educational farm-based activities about life on a working farm, learn where milk and eggs come from? How it gets from the farm to the supermarket?
Reindeer make Christmas magical, and this is their favourite time of year, as they get ready to help Santa, come and see our herd and start the festivities for the family
In February 2010 we purchased our first four reindeer Winston, Stella, Gilbert and Frayer, all imported from Finland. We are a herd of 18 on the farm, increased over the years by breeding and rearing our own calves. All but 3 have been born on the farm. Bodo, my bull is a recent addition brought in from another experienced British reindeer breeder. An additional 4 of have gone on to other farm parks and more may do the same in the future.
Our Haughton Park Reindeer team love what they do every day, our reindeer are part of our very special family, and we love that each one of them has their own personalities and traits, and feel that it is a very special privilege to work with these big furry guys and girls every day.
The reindeer have soft velvety noses which make them a delight to feed and pet, we have no doubt that you will fall in love with our beautiful herd as much as we do, young and old alike, come time and time again, to see their own personal favourite reindeer.
So why not book an onsite of offsite educational visit to see our reindeer, we also hire out for Christmas Fairs, Christmas events and weddings. We know that you will become a follower of our loving reindeer and love them as much as we do.
We are planning a trip to our local strawberry farm next week (weather permitting) Tuesday 29th June, Wednesday 30th and Thursday 1st Jul...
